Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC British ColumbiaWe invite you to join your ACCBC peers to talk about legal and other relevant trends affecting Artificial Intelligence as a Strategic Tool for In-House Counsel.
As artificial intelligence becomes embedded across enterprise functions, in-house counsel must move beyond basic awareness and develop fluency in how AI impacts legal risk, compliance, governance, and strategy. This roundtable convenes in-house attorneys to examine how legal departments can responsibly leverage AI while enabling innovation and safeguarding the organization.
Roundtable participants will engage in a conversation focused on practical implementation, governance frameworks, and strategic positioning, including:
- evaluating AI use cases within the legal department, including contract review, litigation support, compliance monitoring, policy drafting, and knowledge management
- assessing legal and regulatory risk associated with AI tools, including data privacy, IP ownership, confidentiality, bias, cybersecurity, and emerging AI regulation
- developing internal AI policies and frameworks that balance enablement with risk mitigation
- collaborating with IT and business teams to align AI adoption with enterprise risk management strategies
- positioning legal as a proactive advisor in enterprise AI strategy rather than a downstream gatekeeper
Participants will leave with practical information for integrating AI into legal operations while safeguarding their organizations.
