Counsel Under the Microscope: Ethical Landmines in Today’s SEC Investigations

Join Snell & Wilmer attorneys Joe Adams, Megan Carrasco, and Howard Privette as they examine the evolving ethical landscape of SEC investigations and enforcement, with particular attention to recent shifts in enforcement priorities, increased transparency in the Wells process, and heightened scrutiny of counsel conduct. As the SEC returns to a “back‑to‑basics” enforcement philosophy emphasizing core fraud, insider trading, and market manipulation, practitioners face increasingly complex ethical challenges—often under parallel civil, criminal, and regulatory pressure. The program will also provide background on current SEC practice and recent developments to help frame these ethical considerations.
