A program hosted by:

ACC San Francisco Bay Area

Calling all current and retired attorneys and judges

2026 Mock Trial Volunteers

2026 Contra Costa County High School Mock Trial Scorers Needed!!!!

Calling all attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals. Law students and anyone having previous Mock Trial experience can also support these efforts.

Your expertise in a courtroom setting is needed to measure the efforts of budding young attorneys, judges, and advocates at the 45th-Annual Contra Costa County High School Mock Trials. You'll evaluate, while students acting as witnesses and lawyers try an entire case in a timed exchange inside a county courtroom.

Students argue a pre-trial motion, direct and cross-examine witnesses, make objections, and present an opening statement and closing argument. One school’s prosecution team competes against another school’s defense team. After the preliminary rounds, winning teams move forward, and the eventual first-place team will represent our county at the state competition.

This year the Mock Trials will be held at the Bray Courthouse, Martinez, CA.  WE ARE IN NEED OF SCORERS – ESPECIALLY DURING THE FIRST FOUR NIGHTS OF PRELIMINARY ROUNDS (January 27 & 29 and February 3 & 5) from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Quarter finals are on February 10; Semi finals are on February 11; and the Finals are on February 17.

Each evening begins at 5:00 with a 30 minute review of rules and scoring, followed by volunteers heading into their assigned courtrooms. You should attend the review session each night you volunteer if possible.
