What is Street Law?

Street Law is a global, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with 45 years of experience developing classroom and community programs that educate young people about law and government. Street Law has partnered with a number of ACC Chapters with an aim at exposing high school students from diverse communities to everyday legal careers. The program uses volunteer legal professionals to deliver lessons about the law and to serve as role models and advisors to the young women of Pace. While the traditional Street Law program is run at a local, diverse high school, a few chapters have launched the program with a community-based organizations such as Pace to get success.

What is PACE Center for Girls?

Pace Center for Girls provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy. Pace values all girls and young women, believing each one deserves an opportunity to find her voice, achieve her potential and celebrate a life defined by responsibility, dignity, serenity and grace. They have centers throughout our footprint and the Pace Works program perfectly aligns with the Street Law curriculum. The Pace Works program is a comprehensive vocational and educational program dedicated to impacting employability, vocational training, and education success. The ultimate goal of the Pace Works program is to provide the girls with the necessary tools to afford a high school diploma or GED, long-term employability skills, and successful transitions to the workforce, vocational trade, or higher education to secure a brighter future.
