ACC National Capital RegionJoin us for an exciting event co-hosted by the ACC NCR Black and African American Affinity Group and the Greater Virginia Advisory Committee!
We will visit the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, which includes a 20-minute orientation film "Carry On," exhibits in the Visitor Center, and a tour of Walker's home.
As noted on the website, “Walker devoted her life to civil rights advancement, economic empowerment, and educational opportunities for Jim Crow-era African Americans and women. As a bank president, newspaper editor, and fraternal leader, Walker served as an inspiration of pride and progress. Today, Walker’s home is preserved as a tribute to her enduring legacy of vision, courage, and determination.”
Following the visit, we will gather at 12:30 pm for brunch at ML Steak Modern Chophouse (.4 miles away).
This event is a great opportunity to learn, connect, and have fun. Best of all, it is family-friendly! We encourage everyone to come out and be part of this wonderful experience.
Admission to the Historic Site is free. Guests will be responsible for their own brunch.
