ACC National Capital RegionMany entities are exploring ways to leverage their data in advertising, and utilizing aggregated data and analytics in big data projects. These projects create big risks from a data privacy, security, and breach perspective. Our panel will discuss current issues, legal requirements, regulator actions, and class action litigation developments on these types of projects, including with regard to website analytics, anonymization of industry specific protected information, and how to approach remediation for your websites.
More specifically, we will discuss:
- Understand the scope of website tools at issue;
- Discuss the types of state and federal claims utilized in recent, high-dollar litigation;
- Review state and federal laws in scope; and
- Walk through important steps you can take to remediate your websites.
