Overview (Program Summary)
The Association of Corporate Counsel Australia, in partnership with Peerpoint by A&O Shearman, are hosting an exclusive, invitation only dinner, on Thursday 12 September 2024 at Chiswick Restaurant, Woollahra, with special guest speaker, Dr. Joel Pearson, discussing Conquering the AI Revolution: Strategies for Thriving Amid Disruptive Change.
The age of artificial intelligence is upending everything we know – from education and business operations to careers and the very fabric of our economy. This seismic shift towards advanced AI and automation poses immense challenges, but also transformative opportunities.
We've made the mistake of ignoring the human psyche when adopting disruptive technologies before - think social media's unexpected and devastating effects. This time, we cannot afford to be caught off guard as AI triggers a tsunami of change.
Understanding the psychological impacts of generative AI and robotics that most leaders overlook is critical to leading through turbulence, fear, and positioning your organisation and team for success.
Speakers

Dr. Joel Pearson is a neuroscientist, psychologist, and author who translates cutting-edge research into practical, actionable strategies that will transform the way you think, create, and make decisions.
An ARC Future Fellow and Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of New South Wales, Joel founded UNSW’s Future Minds Lab – an experimental startup that is part agency and part traditional research laboratory; home to a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, data scientists, UX and visual designers. He is also the founder and MD of MindX, a consultancy working with brands such as Google, Macquarie Bank, Lexus, PIXAR, M&C Saatchi and Samsung, to gather objective data on how people’s minds work to inform creative outcomes and business development.
Joel hosted the popular ABC Sydney radio show "The Brain Box," blowing people's minds about their minds, and his latest book, "The Intuition Toolkit: The New Science of Knowing What Without Knowing Why" has been hailed as a breakthrough, truly forging a new science and culture around intuition and its powerful applications.
