Overview (Program Summary)

Attorney-client privilege and the protection of client secrets are at the center of Securities and Exchange Commission v. Covington & Burling, a case filed at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. ACC filed an amicus brief on these important issues and the ramifications for in-house counsel, who would be uniquely impacted by the SEC's interpretation of client secrets and Rule 1.6. ACC Associate General Counsel and Director of Advocacy Initiatives Amy Chai attended the hearing and shares her impressions.
