Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC San Francisco Bay Area

Businesses are increasingly embracing Web 3.0, or Web3, as the future of the internet. In fact, companies are already using Web3 in many different ways, including in decentralized finance, governance, and gaming. But the legal framework surrounding related emerging technologies, such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, and non-fungible tokens (or NFTs), remains unsettled. As a result, companies trying to navigate Web3 and these technologies are wading into largely uncharted legal waters. In this presentation, partners Sarah Paul and Brandi Taylor, who routinely advise businesses on Web3 issues, will discuss some of the key Web3 technologies, how companies are already using those technologies, and the various novel legal issues they present.

Speakers:
Brandi Taylor, Partner, West Coast Technology & Data Lead, Eversheds Sutherland
Sarah Paul, Partner, Co-Global Head of Corporate Crime and Investigations, Eversheds Sutherland
Jaya Kasibhatia,  Associate General Counsel, Product at Coinbase
