Overview (Program Summary)

ACC ChicagoJoin us as we host John Cesario, Senior Counsel for the ARDC Chicago who will provide us with valuable information on the Rules of Professional Conduct. He will walk us through evaluating a legal dilemma by reviewing the Rules of Professional Conduct. You will also learn the history of the Rules, and understand the structure and purpose of the Rules.
Attendees will leave with information about resources available to assist one in working through a legal issue and will receive information about the ARDC Ethics Inquiry Program. John will also provide attendees with information about best practices and sources of information on how to proceed when confronting an ethical issue.
Speakers
John R. Cesario, Senior Counsel, ARDC Chicago
As Senior Counsel for the Administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, Mr. Cesario is responsible for representing the Administrator in proceedings in which the ARDC is appointed Receiver pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 776. Mr. Cesario also assists private attorneys who act as receiver by court order.
Mr. Cesario has investigated thousands of charges of lawyer misconduct over the course of his career as attorney in the Intake Group, and he has represented the Administrator as receiver in several receiverships. Mr. Cesario has also written articles that have appeared in the Illinois Bar Journal.
Mr. Cesario obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he received his law degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before becoming Counsel for the Administrator, Mr. Cesario had worked as a Special Public Defender in Jefferson County, and as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Kane County.
