Speakers
Louise Seery, Acting General Counsel, Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation
Louise was admitted in 2003 in Sydney, after graduating with a Bachelor of Law from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University. She has almost 20 years’ experience, both in private practice in Sydney and Ireland and in Federal and State Government roles. Whilst she initially specialised in employment law, after moving to WA she moved both into an in-house role and into the resources sector, commencing at the (then) Department of Mines and Petroleum in 2008 and then working for NOPSEMA, the federal oil and gas regulator. Louise moved back into an in-house role with the State Government in 2017, at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. She is currently the Acting General Counsel and her work involves reporting to 6 different Ministers and includes a wide range of commercial, resources, employment, international and administrative law matters. She is a very active member of the ACC Australia and in 2020 she joined WA’s State committee.
Roberto Musotto, Director of Cyber Security
Dr Roberto Musotto is the Director of Cyber Security at the Office of Digital Government in Western Australia. He is an award-winning socio-legal academic, book author and a member of various boards and committees in Government.
Caitlin Westgarth, Associate General Counsel, Integrated Gas, Renewables & Energy Solutions Australia / VP Legal of Shell
Caitlin has 18 years of legal experience between private practice and Shell. Prior to her current role, Caitlin was the Royal Dutch Shell (RDS) Executive Committee Secretary, where she worked closely with the RDS plc Board and the CEO’s Executive Committee during a key period of defining Shell’s energy transition strategy.
Since joining Shell in 2009, she has held a variety of legal roles in Perth and in The Hague, and in doing so has worked on a range of Australian and international upstream and integrated gas/LNG projects, and growth/M&A opportunities. A strong advocate for diversity, Caitlin is committed to creating a workplace that is respectful, inclusive and enriched by different perspectives. Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (first-class honours) from the University of Sydney.
