Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC NortheastJoin us for this virtual event to learn about African American history, and transcribe historical documents.
In recognition of African American History Month, the ACC Northeast Chapter is pleased to partner with WEHERO to offer this unique opportunity to members. "Unlock History" is a virtual event that supports the purpose of remembering the history and contributions of African Americans during the month of February.
As a participant in Unlock History, you will transcribe historic documents, including diaries and working papers of prominent Americans, and records associated with the Smithsonian Institute's vast scientific collections. Transcription saves these important documents and provides accessibility to researchers around the world, as well as for the general public, for years to come.
Join us in contributing to this collaborative project, while helping to preserve these important historical documents that illustrate and memorialize African Americans' contributions to our nation's history.
