Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Mountain West

Participating in pro bono work can pose unique challenges for in-house attorneys. These include a lack of employer-provided professional liability coverage, lining up your skillset with available pro bono work, or simply finding the time to connect with and participate in pro bono opportunities. Fortunately, the Idaho Supreme Court Pro Bono Commission and the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program can help alleviate some of these challenges.

Idaho Supreme Court Justice and Idaho Pro Bono Commission Chair Robyn Brodie will lead a discussion on Idaho Rule of Professional Conduct 6.1 (Voluntary Pro Bono), the Idaho Pro Bono Commission’s mission, and making time for pro bono work. IVLP Director Jennifer Schindele will also be on hand to discuss many of the pro bono opportunities available to in-house counsel in Idaho. And finally, Maggie Thompson, CASA Advocate Supervisor with Family Advocates, will discuss how in-house attorneys can serve as guardian ad litem counsel in child protective action cases in Idaho’s Fourth District.
