Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC National Capital RegionFor corporate boards, providing management oversight and strategic direction is expanding to include Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations. Board members must be able to assess both the business and legal risks across a range of ESG functions; from disclosures to supply-chain due diligence to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Boards also are increasingly expected to address challenging hot issues involving human rights and Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI), such as LGBTQ+ rights, racial and gender equality, reproductive rights, and human trafficking. Join us for a discussion of the Board’s role in navigating ESG strategies and differing approaches, whether a company is small or large, public or private.
Presented by Teresa Johnson, Partner, Corporate & Finance and Peter Gioello, Counsel, Environmental at Arnold & Porter and Shanda Botts, SVP, Ethics and Compliance, Employment Law & Litigation at AARP.
