Speakers
Marshall McKenna, Partner, Gilbert + Tobin
Marshall is a senior practitioner who has previously served as a councillor of the Law Society of WA, Law Access Limited and several pro bono boards.
His practice focusses on commercial litigation with a recognised speciality in native title and mining law.
He has achieved positive outcomes for his clients in relation to several native title and mining matters (in before the Warden and in the Supreme and Federal Courts), in significant trust remediation matters, enforcement of confidentiality obligations, restraints of trade and employment obligations.
He also has a breadth of experience advising on land access and planning and environmental approvals, Freedom of Information issues and is also active in negotiating and documenting compensation, heritage and land access agreements.
Arabella Tolé, Lawyer, Disputes + Investigations
Arabella Tolé is a lawyer in the Disputes + Investigations team in Perth. Arabella has extensive experience in litigation both within Australian and foreign jurisdictions, including on the Royal Commission into the Detention and Protection of Children in the Northern Territory and the Royal Commission into Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. Arabella has also assisted on international arbitrations, numerous native title and commercial disputes in the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia, the WA Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Australia as well as appearing in mining matters in the Perth Warden’s Court. She has considerable experience advising on land access issues, environmental approvals and native title matters. Arabella joined the firm in 2015 in the Disputes + Investigation Group and spent time in the Energy and Resources Group as part of the G+T graduate program.
