Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Georgia

The ACC Georgia Chapter welcomes Bondurant Mixson & Elmore LLP whose partners, Frank M. Lowrey IV and Tiana S. Mykkeltvedt will offer a presentation on the ethical considerations between in-house and outside counsel. Topics will include, competence, conflicts, fees, confidentiality and more. Frank and Tiana will use real world examples of ethical considerations they encounter in high stakes business litigation and offer solutions to in-house counsel navigating similar tricky situations.

This presentation has already been approved for two ethics CLE credits by the State Bar of Georgia. The Bondurant firm will also be sending Door Dash gift cards to everyone who registers for the event so you may enjoy lunch during the presentation.

Speakers

Frank Lowrey has over 25 years of experience in the federal district courts and state trial courts litigating complex commercial cases on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. His experience is heavily weighted towards antitrust law, consumer class action litigation, and high-value business tort and contract disputes. Antitrust law is a particular area of focus, in which Frank has served as lead counsel in defending and prosecuting plaintiff’s class actions, pursuing single-plaintiff antitrust claims on behalf of large institutions, and defending merger challenges by the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. Frank also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in large-exposure appeals involving business torts, contract disputes, federal statutory claims (particularly antitrust, consumer class action and RICO cases), catastrophic injury and wrongful death.

Tiana Mykkeltvedt brings a solution-oriented approach to her clients’ complex commercial litigation. An experienced litigator, Tiana handles cases from pre-settlement negotiations and early motions practice through discovery, mediation, and if necessary, trial and appeal. The focus of her practice is understanding the client’s needs, and crafting an individualized strategy to both win the legal argument and meet the business objective. Tiana’s practice focuses on breach of contract, business torts including complex fraud and civil RICO, and professional liability. Tiana has also litigated a number of cases involving technology and software contract issues, healthcare information technology, and patent litigation.
