Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC GeorgiaA health pandemic creates a multitude of health and mental stressors that impact us as individuals. Employers may find they have more employees experiencing challenges with elder care and child care. Additionally, the added mental stress can lead to an increase in alcoholism, drug abuse, domestic violence and depression. On top of this, multiple pharmaceutical companies are working on a vaccine. Some employees are ready to take the vaccine, some are not. And in the middle of all of this turmoil, employers are trying to safely bring employees back to the workplace. The ACC Georgia Chapter welcomes Taylor English Duma LLP whose Partners, Glianny Fagundo and Raanon Gal will present “Employee Health Challenges During a Pandemic – It’s More than COVID-19”. We’ll discuss what the responsibilities of Georgia employers are related to federal and state laws when these challenges arise and/or start to impact employee performance.
Speakers
Glianny Fagundo, Partner at Taylor English, prides herself in partnering with clients to design and implement workplace policies and practices that are not just compliant with the law, but that further business goals and protect a company’s culture. Her years as a high-stakes employment and business litigator gave her a full appreciation of the value, and cost, of human capital. As a result, her employment law counsel and advice is carefully designed to maximize returns and decrease risks.
Raanon Gal, Co-Chair of Taylor English’s Labor & Employment Practice, focuses his practice on defending employers in employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), wage and hour, harassment and wrongful termination litigation. He also helps companies with risk management and instituting preventative measures to avoid liability.
