Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC San Diego

The COVID-19 pandemic is having an incredible impact in the litigation space. Experienced trial attorneys, Douglas A. Pettit and Matthew C. Smith, who practice in the areas of commercial litigation and professional liability, will lead a discussion on how the California state and federal courts are handling litigation and trials during the COVID-19 pandemic. They will share their insights and provide an overview of this fast-developing litigation landscape; addressing evolving court practices along with critically important issues such as handling depositions, hearings, and mediations remotely. They will also discuss the nature and extent of delays in trials, as well as virtual jury trials and how COVID-19 may affect how jurors decide cases.
