Ransomware and Business Email Compromises: Minimizing the Legal Risks Associated with Today’s Top Cybersecurity Threats

A ransomware attack or business email compromise can have a crippling impact on a business. These incidents create significant business interruption, negative publicity, enormous operational impact, theft of sensitive data, and large monetary loss. The good news is that there are steps companies can take to minimize these risks.

This panel of cybersecurity experts will entertain and inform us with war stories and lessons learned.  Their presentation will:

    • Explain how a ransomware attack and business email compromise occur;
    • Discuss the legal implications of these incidents, including trends in data breach litigation; and,
    • Identify specific steps companies should take to minimize the legal risks and create defensible positions for potential litigation.
