Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC National Capital Region

“I don’t need to worry about antitrust – I work for a nonprofit.” The reach of antitrust law is not limited to large for-profit corporations.  Tax-exempt trade and professional organizations are particularly vulnerable to antitrust scrutiny.   Even 501(c)(3) charities can be susceptible to antitrust lawsuits and government investigations.  Antitrust compliance can impact association rules and meetings, standards setting, credentialing, hiring, and other activities engaged in by your organization.

Panelists will discuss the application of antitrust laws to nonprofit activities, and provide real-world examples of when things went wrong, and how they can go right.

Speakers

Presented by Eric S. Berman, Partner with Venable LLP, Christopher Rodgers, EVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at National Restaurant Association and Laura Farley, General Counsel at Virginia REALTORS®

Moderated by Denise Gold, Associate General Counsel at The Associated General Contractors of America.
