PRO BONO OPPORTUNITY: ATTORNEY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WILLS FOR HEROES (WFH)!

Pro bono attorneys are needed on Saturday, June 1 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the PBI building in Mechanicsburg, PA. The event is held in coordination with the PBA Military Veterans Affairs Committee.  For those who have not done a WFH before, training is from 9 to 11 AM with lunch and light breakfast.
 
Pro bono attorneys provide free basic estate planning documents to first responders, veterans and their significant others.  At WFH events, a first responder is assigned to an attorney who reviews and inputs information into a laptop with document assembly software.  Once finalized, the documents are signed, witnessed and notarized.
 
There are no ongoing responsibilities.  Since this is not a MidPenn program, attorneys are not covered by MidPenn’s malpractice insurance.  However, all documents are reviewed by an expert attorney with malpractice insurance so individual volunteers do not need to carry insurance in order to participate.
