Program Description: Learn from seasoned trial attorneys how to minimize error and manage risk when assessing and preparing for trial. We will present from the trenches; stories of trial, trial preparation and what you as in-house counsel can learn from our experiences.
Discussion Topics & Objectives Include:
- Initial Concerns - notifying insurance, preserving documents to avoid spoliation, compliance with disclosure requirements (10 min)
- The Importance of Witness Credibility - fact witnesses, experts, plaintiff, and alleged bad actor (15 min)
- Jury Consultants, Jury Selection, and Trial Themes (10 min)
- Pretrial Preparation - scheduling, and coordination of witnesses including the corporate representative (15 min)
- Punitives - preparing for the punitive phase of trial (5 min)
- War Stories - anecdotes from recent trial experiences (5 min)
We encourage members to bring an associate or colleague that may be interested in joining the ACC Mid-America Chapter.
