If the past year has shown us anything, it's that our association has been able to offer new ways of conferencing to ensure our members remain connected. We have gone from in-person events to online only events, and now we are gradually returning to face to face, with online options also available.
Throughout the past year, the association has ensured we’ve worked to safely deliver educational and social opportunities. Your upcoming In-House Counsel Day is no different. At each step of the way, ACC Australia is looking after the health and safety of our members, speakers, corporate partners, and staff.
I would like to share with you some of the way we are doing this:
Local Only Agenda
All speakers are based in Melbourne – we don’t need to worry about sudden border closures. You can register for the day knowing that we are showcasing the best of what Victoria has to offer – amazing speakers, including in-house counsel, that you might bump into at the market. Personally, I am really excited to see Gus Balbontin!
Booking with Piece of Mind
We will not run our In-House Counsel Day if there is a risk to our members. We recently postponed our In-House Counsel Day in Perth just to be on the safe side. If a postponement does occur, delegates will be able to credit their registration to the rescheduled event or be given a refund. We have also introduced some extra safeguards for members if they can’t attend the event due to any symptoms, travelling to a hotspot or local transmission. Visit our COVID page for more information.
Reducing Touchpoints
This has become my mantra in the past few months and the centrepiece of so much of our planning. We have looked to reduce risks and touchpoints wherever possible, including how you register when you arrive on the day. ACC Australia always has an Event App for our conferences. This year, it is the place to do everything; confirm your CPD points, view program information, and exchange details with attendees and partners.
Life without a Zoom Filter
What I am most excited about is seeing so many of the in-house community in-person. There is nothing like an in-person event (hence why I work in the industry); our members are some of the best people I have met in my career. I can’t wait to say hi to you all in between sessions, and maybe for a drink afterwards.
