Corporate Strategy

  • Session objectives: 
    1. To develop a deeper understanding of key strategy concepts.
    2. To explore the key decisions and frameworks of corporate strategy.
    3. To examine the dimensions and components of business-level strategies.

Financial Accounting

  • Session objectives: 
    1. Understanding the balance sheet, the income statement, and the statement of cashflow.
    2. Identifying possible accounting red flags that raise legal concerns.

Managing People and Change

  • Session objectives: 
    1. To understand the nature of the role of change agent and the related tasks, skills, and styles to be effective in influencing others and managing conflict.
    2. To apply concepts and frameworks to specific change situations and develop a portfolio of strategies and tools to build coalitions and effectively lead change teams in your clinic, lab, or department.
    3. To learn to diagnose complex change situations at multiple levels of analysis and to develop cognitively flexible ways of understanding and acting on change situations and opportunities.

Corporate Finance

  • Session objectives:
    1. To examine the aspects of capital budgeting and how firms make project decisions.
    2. Develop an understanding of analytical tools that indicate whether a new project will create value.

Implementing Corporate Strategy

  • Session objectives:
    1. To explore the link between strategy formulation & strategy implementation.
    2. To develop a deep understanding of the key elements of successful strategy implementation.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Credit card is the only form of payment accepted for the Mini MBA for In-house Counsel. 

All monetary amounts in this section are in US Dollars.

Group Registration:
Any company registering two or more attendees will receive a group discount of $100 off of each registration. Registrations must be submitted on the same day to receive the discount. Each participant should register online separately, paying the full amount. After all registrations are completed one attendee must email Boston University (execed@bu.edu) the names of those who registered and a partial refund of $100 will be processed to each registrant. IMPORTANT NOTE: Payment for a minimum of two registrations must be received by 5 PM ET the same day in order to qualify for the group rate. No retroactive group rates will be given.

Cancellation Policy:
Confirmed registrants must notify BU Questrom Executive Leadership Center in writing if they wish to cancel their registration. Phone cancellations will not be accepted. Based on the timing of the written notification, registrants are eligible for the following refunds or credits:

  • Up to 30 calendar days prior to start date of a program: Full refund for any cancellation notices received. Alternatively, registrants can apply 100% of monies paid to another BU Questrom Executive Leadership Center program within one year of originally scheduled program date at no cost.* Any subsequent transfers carry a $500 fee.
  • Between 10 and 29 calendar days before the start date of a program: No refunds will be issued for any cancellation notices. 100% of monies paid will be applied to another BU Questrom Executive Leadership Center program within one year of originally scheduled program date, and a $200 transfer fee will be applied.* Any subsequent transfers carry a $500 fee.
  • Less than calendar 10 days before the start date of a program: No refunds or credit will be issued for any cancellation notices received.

*Credit may not be divided among programs, and if applied to program of lesser cost the tuition difference will be forfeited. Credit may be transferred to an eligible attendee from the same organization, but written notification of transfer must be received from original purchaser in order for credit to be valid. Credit may be transferred one time only; all subsequent transfers carry a $500 fee.

Program Credit Transfers:
Upon written cancellation prior to the cut-off date (see cancellation policy), a registration credit may be transferred to another program date that is within one calendar year of your original program. A $200 transfer fee will be applied. Credit may not be divided among programs, and if applied to program of lesser cost the tuition difference will be forfeited. Credit may be transferred to an eligible attendee from the same organization, but written notification of transfer must be received from original purchaser in order for credit to be valid. Program Cancellation Policy:
Should there be low registration for a program, the program may be canceled no later than 30 calendar days prior to the program start date. In the case of program cancellation, participants will receive a full refund. Alternatively, participants can apply the funds to any future program sponsored by BU Questrom Executive Leadership Center program within one year.
