ACC NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION CORPORATE SCHOLARS PROGRAM

“IN-HOUSE” SUMMER INTERNSHIPS AT
COMPANIES AND NON-PROFITS

ACC National Capital Region – the regional chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel – is very pleased to invite students from eligible Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland law schools to apply to participate in the 21st year of our Corporate Scholars Program. This program provides experiential learning opportunities in the local legal departments of prestigious companies and not-for-profit organizations. The Corporate Scholars Program is designed to give students from the law schools in our region meaningful exposure to in-house practice. This popular program is also a “diversity pipeline” program. We hope to get applications from populations that may otherwise lack access to these opportunities.

In the summer of 2024, ACC National Capital Region plans to select multiple students for the Program. We solicit the internship opportunities from General Counsel who are ACC National Capital Region members, and expect to get a terrific response.  In recent years, the organizations that hosted Scholars included: American Red Cross, Amtrak, Booz Allen Hamilton, Carey International Inc., Cvent, Freddie Mac, General Dynamics Mission Systems, Hilton Worldwide, MAG Aerospace, National Association for the Education of Young Children, NewMarket Services Corporation, Rosetta Stone, Sandy Spring Bank, Sodexo Inc., Special Olympics, Tesla and VOX Media.

These opportunities are open to students who will be enrolled in the fall 2024, including students in joint-degree programs and/or in full-time and part-time law school programs. The internships will last for ten (10) weeks, starting on or before June 3, 2024.  Students will be paid at least $10,000 (less applicable income taxes and other deductions) over the course of the 10 weeks by their host organizations, with funding from the Ilene G. Reid Corporate Scholars Fund administered by the Greater Washington Community Foundation.
