ACC India Corporate Counsel Forum

  • About the Forum

    Launched in December 2017 in Bengaluru, the India Corporate Counsel Forum serves as a peer-to-peer discussion platform on important regulatory developments impacting legal departments in India and beyond, and what these mean for in-house counsel on a day-to-day basis.

    The India Corporate Counsel Forum is geared towards senior in-house counsel and will cover matters, including compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, contracts, data privacy and protection, commercial, competition law, antitrust issues, labor regulations, and M&A.

    Primary goals:

    • To host four Roundtables per year in the Bengaluru region, held under Chatham House Rule.
    • To serve as a key resource for its members to exchange valuable information, forms and practical approaches to pan-Asian legal issues.
    • To act as a center of excellence within the ACC India Networking Group and promote the development of best practices in the areas covered by the Forum.
    • To foster the professional development of its members through education and networking opportunities.
    • To expand the expert network to the Mumbai/Pune and New Delhi/Gurgaon regions.

    Kavitha Gupta, CIPP/A is Senior Corporate Counsel - India and South Asia for Juniper Networks and is a leading Privacy and Technology Counsel with over 16 years of experience in IT & ITES sector. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Kavitha was with Airbus Group India as its Head Legal advising on business and transactional matters in India including Bizlab, Airbus’ start-up incubator and was involved in setting up the first Airbus Flight Training Center (ATO) in India. Kavitha also worked with Hitachi Consulting overseeing the legal function for its APAC region which encompasses IT and Cloud Computing contracts, Privacy and Data Protection, Global Compliances and Employment matters and with Wipro Technologies in the Compliance team heading Compliances for Americas on US Export Control laws, FCPA, US employment laws and was key in automation of employment related matters for Americas and later in the Commercial Contracts team for Wipro Infotech covering India region which includes large government RFPs, consortium agreements and other related contracts.



    Kavitha is a Certified Privacy Professional for Asia (CIPP/A) from IAPP and on the committee for India Corporate Counsel with Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). She received the ‘Young Women General Counsel of the year 2015’ by the Legendary, Shri. Ram Jethmalani, Senior Counsel at the INBA 66th National Law Day, November 26, 2015, New Delhi and bagged the ‘Technology Lawyer of the Year 2016’ Women in Law Awards by the Lawyer Monthly.

    V. Rajesh Kumar is currently in the role of Group Manager, Privacy and Data Protection Office at Infosys Limited.   Rajesh is a law graduate by profession and also certified in the field of privacy and information security.  Awarded Fellowship in Information Privacy in 2016 by International Association of Privacy Professionals, US.

     

    Rajesh Kumar held long positions with IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) -  Asia Advisory Board during 2017 – 2019 and he was also the founder of Bangalore KnowledgeNet Chapter of IAPP in India and has long held positions of trust.  In addition, volunteered with Data Security Council of India, Bangalore Chapter, ISACA and ACFE Bangalore Chapter.  

    On the public front, Rajesh Kumar lectures, and conducts seminars, discussions regularly at forums on Big Data, Internet of Things, Privacy, Security and Data Protection.
