Eligibility

ACC membership is open to individuals who are engaged in the active practice of law employed by organizations in either the private or public sector, do not have regulatory, enforcement or policymaking responsibilities nor work in an institution with such authority, and do not hold themselves out to the public for the practice of law.

The following are ineligible for membership:

  • Individuals whose responsibility may include selling or providing services to individuals or organizations who are not their employer. This would include individuals who work for companies that provide legal services such as head hunters, contract attorneys, law firms, and temporary agencies.
  • Individuals whose responsibilities include sales, marketing and business development in the legal market.
  • Organizations applying for Corporate Membership that have regulatory, enforcement or policymaking responsibilities.

For members in Australia, certain aspects of membership may vary.
