Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC EuropeThe Role of General Counsel in Delivering a Successful China Strategy
ACCE & K&L Gates GC Roundtable Discussion - by invitation only to GC
China continues to be a magnet for foreign investment, with more than 50 000 new foreign enterprises established in 2021 and inward investment of over $160bn making China the world’s leading market for FDI, ahead of the USA.
However, even as COVID-19 recedes in the West, the continued economic and political tension has placed multinationals with operations in China in a tenuous position where the need for effective preparation, oversight, and compliance has never been greater.
But how are European GCs of foreign companies navigating some of the legal, regulatory and cultural challenges of operating in China.
We would like to invite you to participate in a GC roundtable discussion which will touch on some of these issues.
Specifically, the discussion will touch on:
- Data privacy and the impact of the personal information protection law
- Recent implementation of foreign investment laws
- Best practices for safeguarding IP
- Supply-chain challenges
- Sustainability and governance related challenges
The roundtable will be scheduled across UK, EU and China time zones with David K. Y. Tang, Managing Partner, Asia at K&L Gates acting as moderator.
