Overview (Program Summary)
The current administration is looking to flex the might of the Department of Justice and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Join us as we take a closer look at the DOJ and ITC under Biden. This CLE program will explore current enforcement priorities in the areas of cybercrime, conducting internal investigations, renewed interests in prosecuting individuals for corporate-related crimes, corporate compliance, financial services fraud, the foreign corrupt practices act (FCPA), and criminal antitrust initiatives. We will also address the uptick in Section 337 Investigations in recent years. President Biden recently appointed the first African American Administrative Law Judge at the ITC, and filled the long vacant office of Director of the Patent and Trademark Office. In light of these recent additions to two of our nation’s most important intellectual property institutions, the PTO and ITC are poised to tackle important IP issues throughout the remainder of the Biden administration and beyond.
