Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Australia

You’ve won a case; achieved a favourable judgment or award. Success at last! Until it isn’t honoured. Winning the case could be just the first step in a long, difficult battle to recover the proceeds from counter-parties, especially as commercial disputes become more cross-border.

In this webinar hosted by global dispute funder Omni Bridgeway, Investment Manager (and former in-house counsel) Leanne Meyer will be in conversation with Marjolein van den Bosch - Omni Bridgeway’s Head of Enforcement for Asia - about the role a funder plays in the enforcement of judgments and awards for clients from unwilling or evasive debtors.

From tracing assets across far-flung corners of the globe to negotiating with heads of state and government officials, Marjolein will share some of her experiences and discuss the key strategies and proactive measures her team deploys to successfully collect on hard won judgments and awards for clients in the most challenging jurisdictions.  Marjolein is a highly experienced litigator with deep experience in enforcement-related matters, having previously worked with two top Benelux law firms and as VP Investments for Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. in Manila (where she learnt to speak Tagalog!) before joining Omni Bridgeway in 2017, based in Singapore.

In this session, in-house counsel will find out how having the right enforcement team on your side can significantly enhance the prospects of recovery and the steps you can take early on to safeguard collectability and enforcement of your judgments.
