Overview (Program Summary)
You’ve won a case and achieved a favourable judgment or award. Success at last! Until it isn’t honoured. Whether due to personal or business motivations, political dynamics or other factors, many parties and sovereigns resist paying monies owed on awards and judgments obtained in commercial and investment disputes. Winning the case could be just the first step in a long, difficult battle to recover the proceeds from counter-parties, especially as commercial disputes become more cross-border.
For over 30 years, global dispute funder Omni Bridgeway has recovered monies for clients from unwilling or evasive debtors in the most challenging jurisdictions. In this webinar, Omni Bridgeway will explain the role a funder plays in enforcement cases, and the key strategies and proactive measures they deploy to successfully collect on hard won judgments and awards for clients - from tracing assets across the globe to negotiating with heads of state and government officials.
In this session in-house counsel will find out how having the right enforcement team on your side can significantly enhance the prospects of recovery and the steps you can take early on to safeguard collectability and enforcement of your judgments.
