Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Southern California

Baker McKenzie privacy and litigation attorneys will provide practical guidance on steps companies should take now to address compliance requirements and risks under California and other states' privacy laws. A particular focus will be on best practices around reviewing dispute resolution clauses and website terms, and discuss how to avoid litigation risks. Privacy attorneys will discuss the most efficient way to comply with multiple states’ privacy laws and identify inconsistencies of which companies should be aware. Litigators will share their experiences with past or current lawsuits and discuss how these risks to other companies could be mitigated. The panel will also discuss how privacy laws are being used in discovery, and the advantages/disadvantages for consumer arbitration and mass individual arbitrations in the privacy context.
