ACC CharlotteIt is not just about websites nor focused exclusively on retailers. Digital accessibility claims are skyrocketing and impacting any business that uses its digital platform to interact with customers. In 2020 there were over 3,550 lawsuits filed in the federal and state courts across the country claiming that companies websites or mobile apps were not accessible to disabled individuals. This program will provide an update on the state of the law – including practical takeaways from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ April 7, 2021 decision in Gil v. Winn-Dixie – and the status of federal legislation and expected regulations coming from the Department of Justice.
