Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC Greater PhiladelphiaWhen we think of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), what usually comes to mind are the sentient robots in science fiction books and movies. In reality, ML, and increasingly AI, are fastgrowing business-critical tools that can help enterprises in virtually every aspect of their operations. But what are AI and ML really, and what are some of the considerations and risks businesses must take into account when machines analyze data and behavior patterns then determine how best to process that information without additional programming by humans?
Join Gerard (Gerry) Stegmaier, a partner in Reed Smith's IP, Tech & Data practice, for an informative discussion on ML and AI, and common business situations where these tools are being used. Important privacy, security, and intellectual property (IP) risks will be identified, with practical tips to identify and navigate these considerations. Key statutory frameworks and considerations will be identified, including considerations for regulated industries including healthcare (HIPAA) financial institutions (GLB), and human resources (FCRA).
