ACC Southern CaliforniaMichael Hellbusch, data privacy and technology partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, will discuss the latest updates to privacy, including the recent updates to the California Consumer Privacy Act’s proposed regulations, the status of privacy laws in other states and at the federal level, and how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect enforcement of the CCPA. Also, he will speak about how the pandemic is affecting contractual obligations and the impact to businesses as a result of government work restrictions.

Michael Hellbusch (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM) is a partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP and co-chair of its Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group. His focus is on helping business comply with privacy and data security obligations at the state, federal, and international levels. He has a unique understanding of data collection and use technologies that are often overlooked by businesses.
