ACC Dallas - Fort WorthCLE Overview:
Akin Gump partners Michelle Reed and Natasha Kohne, along with Kara Altenbaumer-Price, specialist in executive risk insurance, cyber and privacy liability at McGriff, will walk you through key litigation and enforcement risks that may arise in the post-breach context and what you can do now to mitigate those risks.
We will take a deep dive into the risks posed to companies holding California or New York residents' information by both the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and New York's new Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security (SHIELD) Act. We will explore what it means in practice to adopt "reasonable security," including related vendor issues. The CLE will include a brief presentation followed by practical group discussions.
