Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC EuropeMethodically deleting data when it is no longer useful should be best practice for every organisation. But doing so can be challenging, especially when you consider all the moving parts and applicable regulations surrounding your data.
Considering that up to 85% of an organisations data can be Redundant, Obsolete or Trivial (Veritas Global Databerg Report) – data which provides zero business value, avoiding the costs involved with appropriately managing that data is one tangible benefit of establishing defensible data retention and minimisation practices. Another is avoiding the huge risk that data poses to organisations.
The best way of mitigating risk is to not have it in the first place. The cost of non-compliance to data protection and privacy regulations and the consequences of failing to address appropriate data management practices make operationalising defensible deletion strategies a must for any reputable and forward-thinking organisation.
The webinar will explore:
- What the law says around data retention and minimisation
- Recap on recent regulatory action stemming from data retention non-compliance
