ACC Northeast OhioThis three-part webinar series will cover the history of medical and recreational cannabis use and legalization, the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, and the use of medical marijuana under Ohio law. Each session will focus on 2-3 conundrums that employers face when cannabis comes to the workplace.
Part I: Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 12:00 PM EDT
In Part 1, we will discuss the history of medical and recreational cannabis use and legalization. We will then focus on two conundrums facing employers when cannabis comes to the workplace – contract issues and discrimination against medical marijuana card holders and users.
Part II: Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM EDT
In Part 2, we will discuss the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program and the use of medical marijuana under Ohio law. We will then focus on three conundrums facing employers when cannabis comes to the workplace – accommodating medical marijuana users, what to do with employees who engage in off-duty marijuana use, and the impact of medical marijuana laws on workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation benefits.
Part III: Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 12:00 PM EDT
In Part 3, we will focus on two final conundrums facing employers when cannabis comes to the workplace – drug testing applicants and employees and the proliferation of CBD issues. We will conclude with final thoughts on the future of legalization and employer liability issues.
