Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC CharlotteAs the pandemic rages on, Charlotte continues to face a legal aid crisis. Housing evictions are up, criminal records and revoked driver’s licenses continue to block legal employment, Charlotte citizens struggle to access healthcare coverage and Social Security benefits, and human trafficking continues to be misunderstood and its many victims underrepresented.
To combat these issues, a task force of Charlotte legal professionals are employing an award-winning triage strategy. Join leaders from the business and legal community for a virtual opportunity to learn about the Charlotte Triage project, get training to assist in solutions and help mobilize pro bono legal work for a better Charlotte.
After the speaking program and CLE, please plan to attend the virtual award presentation hosted separately by the Pro Bono Institute (PBI). PBI will present to Charlotte Triage the 2020 Corporate Pro Bono Award, which honors innovative pro bono partnerships between law firms, in-house legal departments and public interest organizations. Event details and registration instructions for the awards presentation will be distributed in a separate communication by PBI.
