Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Arizona

Having a tech-savvy preteen around the house to help you navigate the world of social media and IT comes in handy, but not when it comes to your ethical obligations as an attorney. About 30 jurisdictions (and counting) have implemented specific rules of professional conduct requiring lawyers to be “competent” about technology.

This panel will explore the specifics of these “competence” requirements, including such topics as the use of social media as a communication tool and traps for the unwary that you need to recognize; what you should know about your clients’ IT systems; your obligation to be conversant about technology tools used in your practice; and more.
