CLE Presentation

Data privacy and security compliance require more than just following standards and government regulations. With the increasing and always-changing threat environment, you must know your obligations to protect customer and employee personal data, understand the risk of breaching those obligations, and the security measures needed to remedy any deficiencies.  This presentation will provide a general overview of the legislative changes in privacy and cybersecurity laws from the unique Safe Harbor protection to businesses in Ohio and the California Consumer Privacy Act. In addition, it will provide overview on the growing trend to adopt cybersecurity standards as part of the states’ regulations of the insurance and financial industries and the efforts to adopt a federal privacy law.
