Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC EuropeNotes
ACC Europe, in conjunction with Cleary Gottlieb, is supporting #IamRemarkable, a new Google initiative which strives to empower women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings.
The initiative motivates participants to promote themselves in front of peers and management, thereby breaking gender related modesty norms and glass ceilings.
Companies benefit from diversity. Heterogeneous groups in companies foster flexibility, creativity, organizational and individual growth, and the ability to better adjust to market changes. And yet, women and minorities occupy only 31% of the board seats at Fortune 500 companies.
Research has shown that one of the hurdles of tackling this gap is practicing self-promotion, that is vocally expressing achievement in the work environment.
In the heart of the #IamRemarkable initiative lies a 60-90 min workshop, divided into three parts:
1. Data and research regarding self promotion and unconscious biases.
2. Main exercises to help participants articulate their achievements and practice self promotion.
3. Discussion and take home exercises.
This is a women-only event and limited places are available strictly on a first-come first served basis.
