Presentation Overview: It's really quite simple. In your role as in-house counsel, have you ever lost sleep or fumed at your desk more than once over someone with whom you work? This session will focus on conflicts in-house lawyers often encounter in the workplace when dealing with difficult people on the job. Specifically, the session will:
·
Identify counsels' three most frequently identified difficult personalities (of the eight difficult personalities in the literature)
· Discuss the most frequent mistakes in-house counsel make when trying to deal with these personalities
·
Describe the personality traits of the difficult personalities to help counsel better understand their motivations and manage conflict
· Demonstrate concrete steps for dealing with each difficult personality
·
Address the stressors that make us susceptible to finding these personalities to be difficult

Speaker: Karen Lisko, PH.D., Perkins Coie
