AGENDA:
  • 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. — Registration/Buffet Breakfast/Networking
  • 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. — Session I (Drinker Biddle)

  • 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Session III (Akin Gump)

Session I, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. — Top Ten Things Employers Should Consider for Internal Investigations

This presentation will focus on internal investigations in the employment context, and various considerations in connection with conducting them, including relevant laws, corporate policies, Upjohn warnings, privilege, and best practices.

Session II, 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. — Best Practices for Working With Your Outside Counsel

Now that you’ve made the move to go in house your daily responsibilities are vastly different than when you were in private practice.  Our panelists, Chris Raphaely, Ingrid Welch, and Richard Kwait, will discuss the challenges faced by in-house attorneys who must balance their internal clients along with the outside counsel with whom they partner on certain matters.  They will also provide best practices for making the partnership a success.  Chris and Ingrid have both held in-house positions prior to joining Cozen O’Connor so they have seen the challenges and opportunities from both sides and can offer a unique perspective.

Session III, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — The Evolving U.S. Privacy Landscape:  Highlights for In-House Counsel

The panelists will lead a discussion of the evolving U.S. privacy landscape, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), other federal and state laws, and the latest activity on the Hill.  They will discuss privacy issues that should be on the radar of all in-house counsel, as well as compliance challenges, litigation risks and risk mitigation strategies.

Cancellation Policy: 48-hours’ notice required to ChrisStewart@ACCglobal.com.  No-shows or those who do not cancel within the allotted time frame will be billed $75.
