Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC National Capital Region

Companies are increasingly migrating their IT infrastructure to the cloud due to the cost and security benefits offered by cloud based services. This trend is expected to accelerate in the coming years along with the proliferation of technologies involving big data analytics, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence.

The procurement of cloud services involves a complex and interwoven series of legal relationships with cloud providers, data center operators, and telecommunications carriers. This program will explore the common types of agreements associated with doing business "in the cloud," and explore key issues that should be considered by in-house counsel when structuring contracts with cloud vendors. The program will provide practical guidance and tips for negotiating cloud leases and services agreements, and pitfalls to avoid.

Speakers

Presented by Kemal Hawa and Emily Naughton, Shareholders of Greenberg Traurig LLP and Amber Lester, Assistant General Counsel of CyrusOne, Inc.
