Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC National Capital RegionResearch is proving that diverse organizations perform better than non-diverse ones. The tech industry offers excellent case studies that are particularly helpful for understanding the benefits of diverse perspectives within organizational decision-making, from talent attraction and retention to product development and customer satisfaction.
Therefore, aside from compliance and ethical reasoning, what can we learn from the tech industry in how we can gauge a diverse culture’s impact to our bottom lines? And why does it matter to us as lawyers?
Our panel of speakers will provide varied, honest perspectives into the business cases created to enhance diversity and inclusion among these organizations and also what challenges are being faced in analyzing the results. This program will also address why this conversation is essential to the health of the legal profession and industry as a whole.
The panel will be moderated by Womble Bond Dickinson Tech Transactions Partner and Georgetown University Law School Adjunct Professor Todd Harris, who is publishing a series of articles to encourage healthy public discussion, especially among lawyers, regarding support for diversity in our workplaces and communities.
