Litigation and Global Issues Forums: Privileged and Confidential - It’s More Than Just a Header

LIVE at Valo Park, 7950 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, Virginia, OR BY WEBCAST from your desk.

This program will provide in-house counsel with case studies and practical tips on how to best approach the line between business and legal advice regarding the attorney-client privilege.

The in-house attorney’s dual role as a legal and a business advisor to a corporation creates multifaceted legal questions regarding the application of the attorney-client privilege to counsel often asked (a) to advise internal clients on non-legal issues, and (b) to conduct internal investigations on various issues for which the attorney-client privilege may not be applied consistently.

What are the limitations and exceptions to attorney-client privilege? How do you protect attorney-client privilege during internal investigations? And, further complicating these questions, how does the attorney-client privilege differ from country to country?

Our panel will walk through various case studies of attorney-client privilege scenarios you face every day and provide strategies for addressing these questions.

Presented by Gregory S. Jacobs and Noam B. Fischman of Polsinelli PC; and Chris Tierney, Senior Legal Counsel at Bechtel Corporation.

Lunch will be provided on-site beginning at 12:00 p.m. The program/webcast will begin at 12:30 p.m.
