Government Contractors and Litigation Forums: Rocky Seas Ahead - Navigating Litigation Against the Government And Avoiding the Icebergs

LIVE at the offices of Tegna (formerly Gannett Co., Inc.), 7950 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, Virginia OR by WEBCAST from your desk.

Nobody likes to sue or be sued by their customer.  When your customer is the federal government, the challenges and stakes are even higher.  As a government contractor, even a garden variety contract dispute can become the “perfect storm” of False Claims Act allegations or fraud counterclaims.  Our panel will help you navigate claims by and against the federal government and provide practical tips so that your company does not become shipwrecked.  Topics will include a basic overview of the unique process that applies to contract claims under government contracts, the pros and cons of available legal fora to pursue claims, and latest developments in litigating government claims, including statute of limitations developments and the ever expanding scope of False Claims Act allegations and fraud-related counterclaims.

Presented by Paul Khoury Kara Sacilotto of Wiley Rein LLP and Rick Castiglia, General Counsel-Global Defense Group, Cubic Corporation.

Lunch will be served on-site from 12:00 – 12:30 p.m.  The program will begin at 12:30 p.m.
