Workplace Civility, Off-Duty Conduct and the First Amendment:
Where Should Employers Draw the Line?

The workplace can be a minefield. In addition to heated discussions caused by people on both sides of political, ideological, social & religious debates, employers now grapple with whether they should discipline employees for off-duty conduct & comments. Where should employers draw the line? This session will discuss how to achieve a workplace that is respectful, free of discrimination and harassment, while preserving the right to free speech and a positive exchange of ideas within the law.
