ACC to Examine Leading Corporate Governance, Anti-Corruption Issues at Compliance and Ethics Conference

WASHINGTON (March 27, 2014) — The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), a global bar association representing more than 33,000 in-house counsel in 85 countries, will host its third annual "Compliance & Ethics Training Program" in Austin, Texas, April 7-8, 2014. The meeting will highlight current and emerging compliance and ethics issues affecting businesses worldwide, including data privacy, risk aversion and compliance enforcement trends.


A two-day seminar for corporate counsel and other compliance professionals. Speakers from the finance, insurance and manufacturing industries will discuss how to:

  • Implement and structure a compliance program from start to finish
  • Address attorney-client privilege rules and challenges to privilege in multiple jurisdictions
  • Conduct a compliance investigation and develop successful protocols
  • Identify data privacy issues, specifically its relation to its transfer across borders Present a case for an augmented compliance program to the CEO
  • Understand global anti-corruption regulations, including key provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act, Brazil's anti-corruption law, as well as those requirements impacting global businesses
