Organizations can encourage customers' green behaviors, in addition to changing their own behaviors.  One easy way to do so is to encourage customers to switch from paper-based to electronic billing. 

According to a study commissioned by the PayItGreen™ Alliance, if one in five households switched to electronic bills, statements, and payments, the collective impact would save 151 million pounds of paper, avoid filling 8.6 million household garbage bags with waste, and avoid producing two million tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

Not only does such a practice help the environment, but it may also decrease the time it takes for your customers to pay your invoices, which is critical in this economy.
